Bård (f. 72) er senior designer med lang erfaring fra både byråbransjen og som frilanser – og jobber med hele bredden innen faget. I Tank arbeider Bård stort sett med print, hovedsakelig identitets- og profilutvikling, samt redaksjonell design. Gode stikkord for Bård er kreativ, nøyaktig og løsningsorientert.

Bård har yrkesfaglig utdanning fra Oppegård VGS, linje for grafisk formgivning. Autorisert medlem av Grafill, med gjennomgått kurs som gir rett til den beskyttede yrkestittelen AMG.

Tank is proud to have won the competitive tender “General agreement for Graphic Design” along with four other agencies, as announced by the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training. We have now entered a three-year contractual agreement with the Directorate, and we look forward to working with them.

Klimakur 2020 er lansert

17. februar var den endelig klar – rapporten som utreder tiltak som skal redusere norske utslipp av klimagasser. Etatsgruppen Klimakur høstet mange lovord både fra ulike organisasjoner, forskere og politikere. Miljø- og utviklingsminister Erik Solheim mener politikerne har fått et glimrende utgangspunkt for det videre arbeidet med å redusere de norske utslippene av klimagasser.

Klima- og forurensningsdirektoratet har ledet arbeidet, som er utført i samarbeid med Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat, Statens vegvesen, Statistisk sentralbyrå og Oljedirektoratet.

Tank har stått for den visuelle profilen, og i mars foreligger den gjennomdesignete utgaven på over 300 sider.

Klimakur 2020 has launched

On February 17th it was finally ready – the report which explains the measures required to reduce Norwegian greenhouse gas emissions. The government group Klimakur (“ClimateCure” in English) received a lot of praise from various organisations, researchers and politicians alike. Erik Solheim, Minister for the Environment and Development, believes politicians now have a brilliant starting point for their future work in reducing Norwegian greenhouse gas emissions.

The Climate and Pollution Agency has pioneered the work, which has been completed in collaboration with the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

Tank was responsible for the visual identity, and will deliver the 300-page long climate report in March.

Record sales for TIFF

This years Tromsø International Film Festival is over and the ticket sales passed 56.000. That means it is now the biggest film festival in Norway, and actually one of the biggest cultural events in the country.

TIFF screens challenging quality films for a local, national and international audience. Tank has had the pleasure of creating the identity for this event the last four years, below are some images of 2010, the 20th TIFF.

Den tyvende Tromsø International Film Festival er over og billettsalget passerte for første gang 56.000. Det betyr at det nå er Norges desidert største festival og faktisk et av landets aller største kulturarrangementer.

TIFF viser utfordrende kvalitetsfilm fra hele verden for et lokalt, nasjonalt og internasjonalt publikum. Tank har hatt gleden av å skape festivalens identitet de siste fire årene.

Brief: The total product range of Mack Breweries is too fragmented and widespread. Create a main series design including the products strongest related to the “mothership”: Mack Pilsner. Solution: We created a streamlined series of products, built on tradition and lifting up the main brand.

Bakgrunn for prosjektet var at totalporteføljen fremstod noe fragmentert, og det var behov for å strømlinjeforme flere av produktene. En strømlinjeforming av porteføljen skulle bidra til å bygge mormerket Mack, ved å skape større gjenkjennelighet hos forbruker. Mack ønsket å etablere en serie av sine mest tradisjonsrike produkter, med Mack Pilsner som spydspiss. Serien skal skape et helhetlig design på tvers av produktene i serien.

PDMT’s internal magazine

The task: The Police’s data and material services needed a fresh design for their internal magazine, The PDMT Times (PDMT-tidende). The magazine needed to arouse interest and curiosity amongst both employees and suppliers.

The solution: Tank developed a flexible framework for The PDMT Times, giving it the rigid yet colourful and playful look it needed. The design is flexible enough for specialist content, serious articles and a variety of smaller elements. The result is a cool and inspiring internal magazine.

Oppgave: Politiets data-og materielltjeneste ønsket et nytt og friskt design på sitt internmagasin, PDMT-tidende. Bladet skulle vekke interesse og nysgjerrighet blant ansatte og leverandører.

Løsning:Tank utviklet et fleksibelt malverk som gir PDMT-tidende et stramt, men samtidig fargerikt og lekent uttrykk der det kreves. Designet gir gode muligheter for både fagstoff, seriøse artikler og diverse småstoff. Resultatet er blitt et tøffere og mer inspirerende internmagasin.

Høst

Norsk Jordforbedring AS (Norwegian Earth Improvement Ltd.) are specialists in waste management and the conversion of by-products into products for the green sector. The company needed both an identity and a name which could represent all areas of their activities and also be suitable for international marketing. Tank wanted to develop a name and identity to represent a company with great specialist knowledge and drive to innovate, and whose vision is “a living earth”.

We chose to give Høst a powerful, confident and stylish look, with clear contrast between masculine typography and an organic leaf. Both the name and the visual form were inspired by natural cycles and regeneration. We have also developed a the company’s strapline which is “verdien i avfall” (“valuable waste” for the international market), which can either stand alone or be read as an extension of the name, “Høst valuable waste”.

From now on, autumn will be green.

Norsk Jordforbedring AS er spesialister innen avfallshåndtering og konvertering av restavfall til produkter i den grønne sektor. Selskapet manglet profil og navn som kunne representerte alle sider ved virksomheten og som kunne egne seg for internasjonal markedsføring. Tank ønsket å utvikle navn og identitet som viser et selskap med høy faglig kompetanse og innovasjonsevne, samt en virksomhet som har “en levende jord” som sin visjon.

Vi valgte å gi Høst et kraftfullt, stilsikkert uttrykk, med tydelig kontrast mellom maskulin typografi og et organisk blad. Både navn og visuell utforming er inspirert av naturens kretsløp, og av at det som dør blir til liv. Vi har også utviklet selskapets pay-off som er «verdien i avfall» («valuable waste» for utemarkedene), som kan stå alene, men også leses som en forlengelse av navnet, «Høst verdien i avfall».

Fra nå av blir høsten grønn.

We are developing our team and have employed Sunniva Djupedal de Villiers as part of our design team. She has come straight from New York where she has been working for the New York Times and Exposure USA, amongst others. Sunniva has a BFA in Visual Communication from Kunsthøyskolen i Oslo, and an MFA in Design from the School of Visual Arts, New York. “We’re really looking forward to working with Sunniva, who has bags of talent and wide experience within our discipline. Spring 2010 looks like it’s going to be busy so she will be a very important part of the team going forward”, says creative director Ina Brantenberg.

Sunniva (born 1980) just moved back to Norway after five years in New York as a graphic designer. During her time in the U.S. she worked as an art director at The New York Times, where she designed the Pulitzer nomination books. Prior to this she was an art director at Exposure USA, working with brands such as Nike, PlayStation and Dr. Martens.

Sunniva has a BFA in visual communication from Kunsthøyskolen i Oslo, and an MFA in design from School of Visual Arts, New York.

As a member of Tank, Sunniva will be working within all areas and she will be an important contributor to the continued growth of our web capacity. We are very pleased to welcome her as a new member of our team.

Sunniva (f. 80) har nettopp flyttet tilbake til Norge etter 5 år i New York som grafisk designer. I sin tid i USA har Sunniva jobbet som art director hos The New York Times, med ansvar for nominasjonskatalogene for Pulitzer-prisen. Før dette var hun art director ved Exposure USA, hvor hun jobbet med merkevarer som Nike, PlayStation og Dr. Martens.

Hos Tank jobber Sunniva innen alle disipliner og er et viktig bidrag til ytterligere styrking av vår web-kompetanse. Sunniva er også en habil illustratør.

Sunniva har bachelorgrad i visuell kommunikasjon fra Kunsthøyskolen i Oslo og mastergrad i design fra School of Visual Arts, New York. Medlem av Grafill.

Vi utvider staben og har ansatt Sunniva Djupedal de Villiers som en del av vårt designteam. Hun kommer rett fra New York hvor hun bl. a. har jobbet The New York Times og Exposure USA. Sunniva har bachlorgrad fra Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo og mastergrad fra School of Visual Arts. «Vi ser virkelig frem til å jobbe med Sunniva som har bred erfaring og masse talent innen vårt fag. Våren 2010 ser ut til å bli travel, så hun vil være en viktig brikke i teamet vårt fremover», sier kreativ leder Ina Brantenberg.

BAR – Children of drug abusers

For our annual sponsored project this year Tank chose to work with the new organisation BAR, Barn av rusmisbrukere (called Children of drug abusers in English). BAR is a support organisation for anyone who has grown up with parents or guardians who are drug abusers. Design-wise the solution is simple, honest and functional – clean white areas have been combined with grey and silver to give a sense of objectivity and sobriety. The products exude high quality and safety. Through these carefully-considered typographic and colour choices we are giving the target audience a feeling of the technology and research behind the final product. No norwegian products in this sector have so far managed to develop a product line as complete as the one NBG 24:7 is currently developing.
