Kaleido 2010

The Norwegian Centre for ICT in Education works to ensure that ICT improves school standards. Tank was asked to name their first national conference about digital competence and learning, and to create a visual identity for the event.

The conference was named Kaleido, a word which implies change, curiosity and diverse solutions. The visual framework was based on a playful approach which consisted of colourful basic shapes arranged in different compositions. The child-like look was balanced by crisp, modern typography to communicate the serious aspect of the conference.

Tank was responsible for the decor, scenography, animated title sequences, advertising, website and many other elements in the promotion of the conference. The result was a thoroughly fresh and inspiring look across all media.Kaleido 2010 conference identityProject bookletProgrammeFolderBook of participantsNotepadConference websiteBadgesThe stage

Practically Speaking

Tank was asked by The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training and the Ministry of Education and Research to create a name and visual identity for their annual conference, the theme for 2010 being ‘quality within vocational training institutions’.

The name we arrived at was Praktisk Talt (Practically Speaking), which uses a familiar expression in a new way, and implies the connection between theory and practice. The visual identity is based on stylised graphic lines, and a bold colour palette to symbolise both diversity and optimism. In order to communicate the wide variety of vocational training available we chose to use a pencil case full of tools associated with different vocations – both to illustrate interaction and creativity.

Destination Fornebu

Destination Fornebu is an exhibition centre devoted to the new Statoil building and the beautiful surroundings at Fornebu. Here you can see what the 65,000 square metre building will look like, watch walkthrough videos of the building and get a feel for its overall scale. Using words and pictures the exhibition gives you an insight into life at Fornebu, the environment, the landscape, and a glimpse of Fornebu’s history.

Over at Tank we are proud to have designed the exhibition, a project which has been both demanding and fun.

Brief: Tromsø Jazzclub wanted to change their appearance without spending too much money. Solution: We introduced a visual difference between the spring an autumn program. The folder is printed on good but cheap paper and with only two print colors. The folder also functions as a poster when folded out.
