Tank Design

The brief: New corporate identity for Norway’s oldest publishing house, J.W. Cappelen. Solution: A powerful yet simple logo with a historical feel. Light and playful colours and supporting design elements give instant recognition, while still being highly flexible. Cappelen has now merged with Damm, and the future of the logo is uncertain. 

At Tank, we design many annual reports every year. For many of our customers, the annual report is the most important piece of promotional material they have, and its design is a matter of great prestige. It is our job to balance the report’s serious content with an attractive, vibrant design which reflects the organisation’s identity while portraying the document as something new.

The brief: Annual visuals and production of all material for Norway’s largest film festival. Solution: Bold typography and a rich and complex illustration which was flexible and could be used on many surfaces and in different media. Result: Record ticket sales. 

The brief: A new logo for Venstre, Norway’s oldest political party. Solution: A logo with timeless power and elegance. Result: With minor adjustments, the logo has been in use for more than 10 years and continues to support the party’s new political offensive. 

The brief: Rebranding the slightly old-fashioned Nordisk Terapi brand into the more dynamic and sporty Redcord. Solution: A sporty symbol mark inspired by the letter “r” and the shape of the actual cord that Redcord promotes and sells. Result: Redcord has been provisionally launched in a number of countries, and we are eagerly watching as the situation develops.

Oppgaven: Helhetlig identitet og PR-materiell for filmen basert på Tore Renbergs roman. Løsningen: Et rufsete og personlig uttrykk som henter inspirasjon fra punken og det alternative gutterommet på 80-tallet. Resultat: Foreløpig er filmen sett av over 150 000 i Norge og fått gode anmeldelser i de største avisene.

Bård (f. 72) er senior designer med lang erfaring fra både byråbransjen og som frilanser – og jobber med hele bredden innen faget. I Tank arbeider Bård stort sett med print, hovedsakelig identitets- og profilutvikling, samt redaksjonell design. Gode stikkord for Bård er kreativ, nøyaktig og løsningsorientert.

Bård har yrkesfaglig utdanning fra Oppegård VGS, linje for grafisk formgivning. Autorisert medlem av Grafill, med gjennomgått kurs som gir rett til den beskyttede yrkestittelen AMG.

Monica (f. 69) jobber i Tank med ansvar for forretningsutvikling, strategi og markedsføring. I tillegg fungerer hun som konsulent og prosjektleder, med ansvar for planlegging og  tilrettelegging av oppdragsmengden, samt forhandlinger og budsjettering av de større prosjektene i byrået. Monica inngår i Tanks ledergruppe sammen med partnerne i byrået.

Monica er utdannet jurist ved Universitetet i Oslo, og har studert markedskommunikasjon på BI Norges Markedshøyskole i Oslo. Monica startet karrieren som juridisk førstekonsulent før hun gikk over til Aschehoug Forlag som redaktør. Gjennom ulike stillinger i forlagsbransjen har hun, foruten redaksjonell kunnskap, fått erfaring med ledelse, markedsføring, PR og kommunikasjon.
